Wicked Local Reading: Goddard Students Become Backyard Adventure Rangers
This article describes The Goddard School in Reading‘s amazing two-week outdoor education program for children heading off to delayed kindergarten.

“The Backyard Adventure Rangers program was designed and delivered for students who had completed pre-K but would not be starting school for another two weeks. The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) program included lessons on growth and decomposition, weather and climate, solar energy, fluids, creating with natural material, physics, making from scratch, birds, pollution and giving back to the Earth.
The curriculum also included a daily session featuring the KinderLab KIBO Robotics program where they developed coding for a robot. On the final day, students gave a robotics demonstration and verbal presentation to other preschoolers, teachers and Program Director Cheryl Bracken.
“I am so proud of what these kids accomplished. They had fun but really grew some personal skills that will serve them well in school.”
