Flipboard EDU Podcast: Unlocking STEM for Young Minds
Wlliam “Coach” Jeffrey of Flipboard EDU Podcast met with KinderLab Robotics’ CEO, Mitch Rosenberg, while at the ISTELive 24 Conference. Listen in on the interview about Mitch, KinderLab’s orgins, it’s research and our mission to provide universal STEM learning though the early learning KIBO robot kit.
The interview includes snippits like:
Mitch: “I was interested in making it possible for people to get excited about STEM at an early enough age that their interest in STEM isn’t socialized out by the time where were in high school.
Mitch: “If you want to have universal language literacy you start in PreK or earlier. Why is it that you start STEM in middle shool or high school…? The ideal time is before adolescence. Get them to feel that they like STEM, they have experience with STEM before adolescence.:
Mitch: “Universal STEM Literacy…you have to start young and have it be age-appropriate for them.”
Coach: “I am amazed how simple it is for computer programming.”
Mitch: “[Kids say] ‘I can control something in this world with my ideas’. If all they get is that, I feel that we have done our job. Because ever after, they will teach themselves. We need more people to be able to think in STEM ways. To be informed citizens in what they do everyday.”
Coach: “To become excellent problem solvers.”
Coach: “Mitch, you blew my mind with this. I wasn’t expecting this. This is amazing.”
