KIBO Cards – How Does KIBO Work

In these cards, we describe the innards of the KIBO robot and how it performs as it does. Learn more about KIBO’s main board, its wiring, and its scanner.

Underneath the KIBO robot is a clear bottom so children can see how KIBO works. KIBO’s main board, KIBO’s brain, controls its movement by telling the motors when to go. The main board also receives information from its sensors. KIBO’s wires connect the main board to KIBO’s sensors. The sensors send information to the main board. The scanner with its red light is attached to the main board.
